Boston No Kidding! is an all-volunteer, non-profit social club for
couples and singles who, for whatever reason, do not have children
and have never been parents. Activities sponsored by Boston No
Kidding! give childless and child-free people a chance to talk
about careers, studies, travels, interests, sex, politics and
religion or merely network. Couples, singles, men, and women are
all welcome.

However, as pointed out by some members, the dues are payable in order to defray the cost of the Chapter One (in Vancouver) website, web hosting, P.O. Box, domain name, phone bill, etc. It has been mentioned that many of these costs could be lowered significantly, some may be unnecessary. Other than putting the original idea of this child-free group together, we might not be gaining anything from our association with the whole international No Kidding! organization. Our group has been a social group for anyone who does not have children for whatever reason. The advantages to paying the dues and being associated with the international group would be 1) to retain the boston.nokidding.net domain name, 2) retain any potential members that we may gain that find us via the nokidding.net website(chapter one), and 3)invitations to attend the annual No Kidding! Convention.
If anyone has thoughts about this issue, pro or con, regarding whether or not we should pay the dues and remain affiliated with the international group, please feel free to respond to me at boston@nokidding.net and/or post your thoughts to the Boston No Kidding! messageboard at http://Going.com: http://going.com/bostonnokidding
I'd particularly like to hear from the "regulars" with the group, but if you're a newer member or even a lurker with the group, feel free to chime in with your opinion. If we choose not be associated with Chapter One and the whole international group, we potentially may need to change the group name to something else, but that's not a deal-breaker in my eyes.
BTW, anyone have any ideas for a monthly dinner for October? Maybe something/somewhere in regards to the Halloween theme coming in October?

I have no problem with the $24 annual fee. If the costs can be lowered, even better. I'm no expert, but the nokidding site might give us more of a web prescience than with just going. But who am I to say.
As for the Halloween thing, although kinda touristy, I've always wanted to check out the Salem Witch museum. They are open until 10pm on most Fridays and Saturdays in October. Since Lisa initiated the monthly dinner on the 20th, I'd say the 13th would would be good. Just my 2 cents.
