Editors' Take

To celebrate the 15th year of the Cambridge Carnival International Festival, this steel pan, drumming, folkloric, dancing and educational party is now adding some tasty samples to the mix. Fill your belly and then work it off, Caribbean-style.

Cambridge Carnival International Inc. is presenting its first Taste of Cambridge Carnival, a kick-off fundraising event to support the 15th year of Cambridge Carnival International a Caribbean and Mardis Gras style festival in Cambridge

 

This event will feature a cultural presentation from a historical and social perspective of Cambridge Carnival and will take place on Sunday, August 12, 2007 from 3-7pm at the new Broad Institute , 7 Cambridge Center in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA.  Performances include steel pan presentation, drumming, folkloric presentations, dancing, and multimedia and educational exhibits.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and includes finger
foods. The Broad Institute is located at 7 
Cambridge
 Center (enter from 
Main Street
) between Binney and 
Ames Street
. Nearest MBTA stop is 
Kendall Square
. Free Sunday parking is available at the MIT parking lot across
the street. 

Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as seating
