The new exhibition Luxury for Export inspires this months' After Hours with art from all over the globe (including a mother of pearl chess set) and live jazz from the Rudresh Mahanthappa Quartet.
Third Thursdays
5-9pm
A new kind of night out, After Hours is live music, art, conversation, cocktails and more in an inviting atmosphere. Linger around the courtyard bar and listen to live jazz or sample a new small plates menu in the café. Experience something different each month – from impromptu gallery talks to contemporary performance to cutting-edge new music concerts – and spend time in the galleries exploring what the Gardner is all about.
Art, music and atmosphere: what will you discover After Hours?

After Hours PLUS
April 17, 2008, 7:00pm -
Jazz at the Gardner: Syncopation
Dubbed "the Manhattan Transfer of the 21st century" by the
Boston Globe, vocal jazz group
Syncopation performs cutting-edge jazz, pop and world music at small clubs and
large festivals. But this is not your father's vocal group. Lee's
splashy arranging style, Christine's hot trumpet playing, Dave's
angular wailing, and Aubrey's trombone styling make Syncopation
unique and contemporary.
On five Thursday nights throughout the year,
Jazz at the Gardner presents the best emerging young musicians and recent graduates
from the Berklee College of Music, such as these former students.
