Editors' Take

They're one of Israel's top bands, representing the country in the 2007 Eurovision contest, so it's only a matter of time before Teapacks' eccentric blend of middle eastern, pop, funk, humor and social commentary gets huge in the US.

Teapacks (aka Tipex) represented Israel in the 2007 Eurovision contest, and now they're touring the US.  An eccentric band that blends middle eastern, pop, funk, rock, humor, and social commentary, in several languages (including Hebrew and English), they've recorded 7 albums and are often selected "band of the year" by Israeli radio stations.

I went to their gig in New York on Sunday night, and Kobi Oz was just as clever and wacky in person as I suspected :) There were a few hundred people there, and they did three encores!

They're working on an album that's mostly in English so about a third of the songs they did at the show were in English, including a full translation of Od Shabat which was originally in Hebrew.
