WMBR is the MIT campus radio station. We broadcast on 88.1 FM between 20 and 24 hours per day, 365 days a year. We transmit at 720 watts, effective radiated power from the top of the Eastgate Building in Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our offices and studios are located on the MIT campus in the basement of the Walker Memorial Building at 142 Memorial Drive. Our programming includes a wide range of music shows, public affairs programs and eclectic audio entertainment.

Thursday Nov. 6 - Wednesday Nov. 12 is Fundraising Week on WMBR

This is the one week out of the year that we ask you, our listeners, to help keep WMBR on the air for another year. WMBR is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization; your generous donations enable us to continue providing you with the quality eclectic programming that you've come to expect from the bottom of your FM dial.

Please take a look at our Fundraising Page for more details about our 2008 fundraising drive, including pictures of the cool premiums that we are offering this year, as well as the opportunity to pledge online.

Mary McCaslin Interviewed on WMBR's Lost & Found Program

    November 11, 2008 12:00p–2:00p

Folk singer/songwriter Mary McCaslin will call in to host Eli Polonsky for a telephone interview, and to help us ask for your support during WMBR's 2008 fundraising drive, at around 1:00 PM! Mary McCaslin began recording in 1968, but it was when she began to define her writing style in the early '70s with her own vivid musical imagery and stories of the American prairie and the "Old West" that she became recognized for her original music, as well as for her own unique folk-styled cover versions of popular songs ranging from the Supremes to the Beatles. By the mid-1970s, Mary became a popular touring folk performer, and her music was frequently played on the former folk music station WCAS here in Cambridge. Mary will be performing with longtime local acoustic folk/blues master Geoff Bartley at the Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church in Somerville on Saturday, November 15. More information is available here. We will also be offering tickets to this concert in exchange for your generous pledges, so please tune in and help support WMBR during our annual fundraising week!

WMBR has been very good to the artists I present. In August Eli Polansky interviewed the Rowan Brothers, and on Tuesday, November 11 at 1pm he will be interviewing Mary McCaslin (88.1fm, streaming @ www.wmbr.org).

    Thanks Eli and WMBR!
