In a combined celebration of Earth Day and Go Green Walk/Ride Day the Harvard Square Business Association and Zipcar invites you to join us at The Great Big Green party on Winthrop Street !

Go Green Walk/Ride Day and Care for the Square Party

Our local Harvard Square Businesses and Zipcar our Event Sponsor have come together to celebrate another exciting Go Green Walk/Ride Day with music, healthy food samples, information about "Going Green and Saving Green" and an early spring bar-b-que!

Recycling will collect and recycle unwanted used computers and monitors for FREE during the Big Green Party in Harvard Square For those unable to make the drop off during the Big Green Party, RE/MAX Destiny will also accept unwanted computers, monitors and cell phones at its Cambridge Office (907 Massachusetts Ave.) from April 24th through May 10th. CRT will provide certificates of destruction for hard drives for a $5.00 suggested donation for group shredding and $10.00 for individual shedding where the drive serial number is on the certificate. http://www.recyclingelectronics.com and www.yourguidehome.com

·          Boloco will be on site to give small samples of their very own Boloco-composted potting soil to get your garden started with a great foundation.everything organic that can be composted is composted through their Harvard Square store! www.boloco.com

·          The Green Streets Initiative and the Harvard Square Business Association (HSBA) will be on hand to STAMP the hands of those wearing green and arriving green and to provide info about the Go Green Streets program and other initiatives! www.gogreenstreets.org

·          The HSBA is also organizing our "CARE FOR THE SQUARE SPRING CLEANING! Meet in Winthrop Park at 1:00 p.m. Bring your brooms, gloves, rakes, and recyclable trash bags. Teams will spread out around the Square to pick up trash, clean sidewalks, rake grass and take note of graffiti that needs to be removed and bricks that need to be repaired. The DPW will pick up the trash we have accumulated. And then we'll have a Bar-b-que for our helpers at 2:00 p.m.
