What Items will I find at the bazaar?:
Handmade Jewelry, decor, weavings, clothing, instruments, music, as well as other fairly traded arts and crafts from around the world.
“This is an opportunity for the public to support indigenous artisans as well as the human rights and cultural survival of indigenous peoples worldwide.” says Dave Favreau, Marketing Director with Cultural Survival.
WHY is iT Important That You GO:

Before the day is over, an indigenous person will be displaced or killed. Before the month is over, an indigenous homeland will be clear-cut, strip-mined, or flooded. Before the year is over, dozens of indigenous languages will vanish forever. Governments and powerful economic interests perpetrate this human and cultural devastation. Cultural Survival works to prevent it. We partner with indigenous peoples to strengthen their languages and cultures, educate their communities about their rights, and fight marginalization, discrimination, exploitation, and abuse.

WhO Benefits:
Funding raised from bazaars support a wide variety of Cultural Survival Projects ( www.cs.org ) & many other important non-profit work worldwide including education and micro-finance in Uganda, literacy projects in Mexico, land & forest conservation worldwide, language training & economic development for Tibetan refugees, the building and support of a school in Adkhoy, in the Faryab Province of Northern Afhanistan-which strongly encourages female attendance, free of tuition while also supporting fair trade & Indigenous artisans worldwide.
