A high-end juried festival, this free public showcase for the arts will feature nationally recognized artists as well as accomplished and emerging artists from New England working in an array of media, from jewelry, fiber, glass, ceramics to photography, watercolor and mixed media.

New this year is the 2009 Susan Lichter Jury Prize in memory of our beloved committee member and the festival committee is pleased to announce the winner is ceramicist, James Guggina, an artist whose work best exemplifies the highest level of both art and craft as well as embodies Susan's spirit.

The Festival will also partner again with the 2nd Annual Brookline Food Festival, also happening at Devotion School from noon – 3 p.m., which will serve up bites by over a dozen local Brookline restaurants. Each restaurant will have its own area with tasting portions of up to three items. Tasting tickets will be sold at a central location for $2 each. Net proceeds will be donated to the Brookline Food Pantry.
"Each year we continue to be pleased by the growing quality of the artists and craftspeople who apply to our Festival,” says Sue Stein, owner of Fire Opal, juror and one of organizers of the festival. “This year we are able to offer visitors as many as 40% new faces in addition to their favorites of years past.”

Along with Stein, the Festival is coordinated and juried by a committee of dedicated Coolidge Corner merchants and business people including Lea Cohen of Prudential Unlimited Realty and former owner of Stones Throw gallery, Nicole Donson, owner of Silken Dreams hand-painted silks, Jennifer Hill of JHill Designs, Lisa Clark, manager at Brookline Bank and Mike Kerstein, owner of Simons Shoes.

The Devotion School is located adjacent to the restaurant Zaftigs. The event is accessible by the “C” line to Coolidge Corner and the #66 bus. For more information about the Festival, visit http://www.coolidgecornerartsfestival.com.
