In 2002 Sooz was inspired by friends at Exploit Seattle to set up Exploit Boston!, an event blog about arts/entertainment happenings around Boston. Events we are hosting or organizing a group outing to are posted to HeyLetsGo for RSVPs. Fast forward to November 2007 ... Exploit Boston! now focuses on music: event picks, concert photos, videos and internet radio. If you are looking for something to do on Sunday, a few of us are meeting up for the opening of the new ICA building tomorrow/Sunday/December 10th. Admission is free for the grand opening and they've got a bunch of stuff planned throughout the day.

Soul Fire has finally been able to get a liquor license so there will once again be beer at game night by the time the January 2nd event happens. I know at least a few people who will be happy to hear this!

The next Exploit Boston Game Night is just around the corner on Tuesday, December 5th, 7-11pm. We bring lots (and lots) of board and card games. Bring your pals or come alone and make new friends. It's a very friendly crowd.

The good news is that Soul Fire is a great venue for game night: great lighting, great food and good prices and you order at the counter so there's no waitress to keep you stuck at one table the entire night. The bad news for now is that it's a new restaurant and they don't have their liquor license yet. They're hoping to have it in time for our event on December 5th but there's a chance they won't have the license yet. Wonder Bar is next door for anyone who needs to sneak out for a beer. They've also got Harpoon Sodas that are tasty as far as non-alcoholic beverages go. Beer and board games will return soon. In the meantime ... looking forward to seeing you at Soul Fire on December 5th!

While it sounds like a new Japanese video game for Xbox, Soul Fire actually turned out to really be a restaurant. And they have really good food. I'm not a huge fan of BBQ in general, but I really liked the pulled pork sammich with "North Carolina" sauce.

And Mr. Owner Guy said he had the fellow from the city coming by to review an alcohol licensing today, so hopefully that'll be an available thing by next month.

The brighter lighting did help with seeing the boardgames too.

  I heard from one person that she didn't like the coleslaw -- it was a little bland; but other than that, it seems like the food went over well.
