Boston has an amazing music scene. There are approximately 392,045 bands here. I ocassionally post info about a show and whoever wants to meet up with us will go to it. See good music and meet up with interesting humans!

To hear lots of Boston bands past and present, check out Exploit Boston Radio showcasing bands in Boston and around MA. Listen up to hear emerging and indie bands plus well known favorites.

If you have any questions or comments, post a note to the message board below or send Sooz a note.

There's been a change in the lineup for the 9/28 show at TT The Bear's -- AKA Boston Rocks! #3. Violent Nine will be replacing Johnny Lives! for the 12:10 spot. Violent Nine is a really excellent pop/rock band. I saw them at Milly's Tavern in NH last month with Bleu and The Everyday Visuals. This show on 9/28 is going to be REALLY good. You might not want to stay out past midnight for Violet Nine since it's a school night -- but you really should. It's OK to go to work sleepy on a Friday.

If you're thinking about the show or definitely planning to be there, please add it to your wish list so we have an idea of how many people will be meeting up with us.

The second outing for Boston Rocks! is coming up this Thursday, September 14th. The plan is to see The Everyday Visuals upstairs at the Middle East. Other bands playing that night are Hooray For Earth (CD Release), Appomattox and Township. If you'd like to join us, add the event to your wishlist and make note that you'll be there. We'll figure out where we'll meet up Thursday afternoon.

    http://heyletsgo.com/event.php?event_...

The band has several songs available to listen to on their page at MySpace. All the tunes are great; but they don't really capture the energy of their live show. Good stuff!

      Hi Jen:

The Boston Rocks group is set up a little differently than other HLG groups -- it's more of a curated thing. I pick a show from the collection of bands I play on Exploit Boston Radio. I'm going to ask HLG to delete this thread. Let me know if you have any questions. :)

    Hi Sooz, Jon and Michael:
Thanks for making us all aware of the awesome concert at the Bulfinch Yacht Club Friday night! It was great fun and we really liked Sooz' band of choice: The SnowLeopards.
We are looking forward to hearing them on your radio station exploitboston.com
    Cheers,

Thanks for joining this new group! Since we're just getting started, I thought we might do our first official rock show outing next week, sometime between September 6-9. I'll post the show for that sometime soon.

But if you are looking for something to do this weekend, I highly recommend checking out The SnowLeopards at the Bullfinch Yachtclub near North Station on Friend Street. I plan to be there. It's this Friday, September 1st. The show is at 9PM but I haven't tracked down the cost yet. Most likely $5-$8. (It's the same night as Bang Camaro Downstairs at the Middle East. They are also fun to see if you missed their first show at the Paradise.)

Here's the HLG listing for more information about the SnowLeopards show on Friday:

Thanks, Rob. I called the number listed in information for Bulfinch and it is actually for the youth hostel upstairs. Apparently they share their phone or 411 has the wrong info. It looks like it'll be $5-$6 and start time is around 9. If you have a show suggestion for future weeks, let me know. Perhaps the Cheap Thrills and Boston Rocks group can all meet up. :)
