Ha, I'm just too lazy to get off the T early at Coolidge Corner...
There's a Boca Grande near my office where I usually go, and La
Verdad isn't too far away either if I want tacos...

I read your blog, actually - I followed a link I think from the
chowhound boards. I believe it was the post about fiddleheads.
Just started a blog of my own the other day. It's not foodcentric
but it's Jennycentric and I do like food, so I imagine an ode to
goat cheese will appear shortly. Anyway, I linked to your blog from
mine.
Awwww we're blog buddies!

with the animation.

Chili Cheese Fries (a la Tommy's).
I guess someone needs to open a Cali-style burger joint around
here. I have a hard time believing that people wouldn't flip for
In-N-Out burgers, for example...
RE: Sour Cream
I like it in some burritos and on my nachos plate.

What do you put on your PB&J?
I started trying out new jellys. I have a black raspberry jelly
which is really good. I grew up on grape jelly and converted to
strawberry jelly, I like both though.
I stick to the original stuff, no bananas for me. I like fluff, but
I feel like im eating creamy suger.

I, too, grew up on grape (seeping through soft white bread - so
nasty and delicious) but switched to strawberry. I'm a fan of apple
butter and peanut butter; the spice of the apple butter really
complements the peanut butter well. I'd also recommend
experimenting with new nut butters, since they're so readily
available at grocery stores now. Orange marmelade and almond butter
maybe?

1) Sandwiches - hard to say. I'm pretty easy to please in that
department - a little fresh mozz, some really red tomatoes, a few
leaves of basil and some balsamic on not-too-crunchy baguette and
I'm all set. Although I'm really curious to try the new sandwich
place in Inman...
2) Not good on pizza. No. Maybe. I don't know. They could be, but I
don't like seafood or chicken paired with tomato sauce, so I'll
probably never know. Good on crackers? Duh, everything's good on a
cracker.

I joined the group just to say: oh. my. god. I've been eating salad
non-stop because I discovered white truffle oil last weekend - just
mixed greens with a bit of the oil, splash of white balsamic and
grind pepper and salt over it, amazing.

Karen,
Sounds delicious......definitely need to try this. I usually have
balsamic and evoo with salt and pepper on my salads, very simple,
but this sounds even better!

another SoCal invention I've yet to see out here is a "Chili-Size" (open face burger smothered in chili). it's amazing.
oh, and no self respecting Mexican food eater puts sour cream on their food. damned North Easterners...

I was introduced to the chili-size at Johnny's Pastrami (next to Tito's Tacos in Culver City) but have seen it at a few other similar places.
In-N-Out would do amazing anywhere, everyone i know that has tried it falls in love.

1) Sandwich places: Can anyone touch Flour?
2) Anchovies: Good on pizza, good on caeasar salads, good on anything, good-for-nothing?
3) Prosciutto: How thin is too thin? (ok, this one is a joke question :)

RE: Great group! + -
1) Dave's Fresh Pasta in Davis Square... unbelievably fresh, and there are tons of gourmet toppings.
2) Anchovies are fine, as long as I don't have to see them. The little hairs freak me out ;)
3) I want to be able to see through my prosciutto!
