...people may wish to check out "Davis Square Livejournal" - http://community.livejournal.com/davi...

Based on its appearance (looks like Going, version 5/20/08) and who is participating, I wonder if there is a connection?

Hey Everyone! I go out to breakfast most weekends and I think we Davis Square-ers have it the best. Where's your favorite place to go?

My top two are Renees Cafe (on Holland St between Davis and Teele) and Soundbites in Ball Square!

Rene's is where I go most often for brunch in Davis Square (have you noticed they're not consistent about how many e's are at the end of the name? :)

Johnny D's also has a good brunch and some of my friends go there often. I've only been there for brunch a couple of times. It is pretty good, and there's a live jazz band during brunch.

Other places in Camberville I like to go to brunch at are the Neighborhood Restaurant & Bakery in Union Square (homemade Portuguese food!) and S&S in Inman Square (Jewish deli style food - bagels & knishes & blintzes, etc.) But those aren't quite Davis Square.

I recently went for dinner. The food was decent and reasonably priced for what we ate. Looks exactly like Sauce and whatever the last restaurant was, but this time the food is Italian. The service was so-so but the ambiance was nice. I would go back.

I just went there last night, because that's where Marty Martinez had his election night victory party. It's the same space where Sauce used to be, and it felt about the same to me :)

Varttina, one of my favorite bands and one of the most popular bands in Finland, is touring the US, and they have a show at the Somerville Theatre this Friday, January 19th. I posted about them on my music blog, with a couple of mp3 clips so you can hear what they sound like:
