Hip Hop & Boston

81 members

This group is for real hip hop junkies that love hip hop music, lyrics and culture. Those of you that know me from SupahFans may learn I have many interests- Hip Hop has always been one of them. My buddy Brian has been inspiring me in life, family, love, health, sports, business and hip hop. Check out his MySpace page (he's a local underground artist). Last week we went to The Stones Throw concert at The Paradise, watched an amazing show and met some of the nation's best artists- quite inspiring. Enough to start this group for the diehard Hip Hop Head or the casual fan looking for new CDs, old school joints and/or upcoming shows. Hip Hop is communal- please make this YOUR spot, interactive and positive. Get involved. Get into it.

    POETRY Get Rhythm

Handsome Boy Clothing, a local label that makes cool T-shirts, is sponsoring a night at the Good Life called " Poetic Escape." It's a reading featuring seven or eight local poets, live music by the jazz band Sol' Melodiq, and music spun by DJ SolBak, who plays blues, jazz, soul, funk, house, and classics. This event runs from 8 to midnight. Organizers say they're aiming for a cultural mix -- and to highlight some of the best minds of their generation. No cover.
