singing. Singing to an open microphone to engineered music, but where's our engineer?

It's not like you're doing it for pay, and only your friends will understand.

Please join us at these events, convert the unwashed masses to our ways, and help us with our study in this group of Boston karaoke.

Suggest another venue for comparison, if you would be so kind. Please comment on an event here or on the event's page. Let us know about the scene, the MC, and what songs you sang!

Pictures are welcome, but you might want to add a Copyright notice including your name or email address. That way your friends don't end up in a publication, perhaps not their favorite, and generating revenue for the publication only. Otherwise, hey, give it away.

Ok fellow Idol wannabees, the weekend is only 3 days away. Friday night I'll be checking out a place called Josies in Everett (on Main Street). It's a new place but a cool KJ (Dave). He's got a decent song collection and nice sound system. Come check it out.

On Saturday I'll make my 3rd appearance at Legends Hall of Fame in Waltham. Moe has a really good sound system as well and a good song book. The place is clean, people are friendly and for those who want to know, some pretty girls too! Come on by and sing a song or 3!

    Who's coming out??

Ok ladies. There has got to be one of you out there who can sing pretty well and wouldn't mind singing a duet with me tonight right?

I'll be at Rob Jack's Sports Bar tonight at 88 Main St. in Everett,MA. The KJ has a very nice system and tons of songs to choose from. I've been wanting to do "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" with any reasonably good female singer. I'll consider other songs (Cruisin - Paltrow/Huey Lewis, My Humps - Black Eyed Peas etc.).

I'll even come out to YOUR karaoke bar tonight if you'll sing with me. This is NOT for a date or relationship (except maybe friendship). I am a normal guy who is away from home on business and gets tired of singing my own stuff each week. A duet once in a while is nice and I KNOW that Paradise would be a good show with the right female partner.

Drop me an email ( dmsr44@gmail.com) or respond here and let's talk about it and have some fun!! (and DON'T say, "Let me sleep on it.....") :-)

    Hi all,

I'm new in Boston (for the most part) and haven't gone out to karaoke on Saturday night. Friday I'm at Rob Jacks in Everett but I would like to try someplace new on Saturday.

Anyone going on Saturday and if so, where? I'm open to anywhere (I was thinking of The Courtside in Cambridge) so let me know!

    Thanks! Sam

Sounds good. The lore goes that you have to show up there early and
get your songs submitted. It's their event, so they can run it that
way, taking more than one song at a time.
I think Sissy K's has karaoke on Saturday's, too, but I know the
Courtside well. Extra credit for singing a duet with Mark the
      Shark.
I can probably make it there by 10. Ping me for contact info.

Well I'll give it a try then. I'll get there early and see what songs they have and submit a bunch. Do they play discs or is it all computer? I have my own discs that's why I ask. Would be nice if more of the 43 members of the group came out too! :)

Sorry something came up and I couldn't get out there. I sang 5 songs at Rob Jacks Friday in about 2 hours. That's my kind of place! Seems that Courtside is pretty crowded. I'll see about next weekend. What did you sing at Midnight? (I would be shocked if anyone else from this group posted an answer as there's not much participation here).

That's a lot of karaoke, Sam. Doesn't sound like you could stop if intervention were to take place. I'm thinking about heading over to Charlie's Kitchen, since I just got some stuff done.

Perhaps I can visit your Abington spot some time. Will have to wheedle some transportation or get a motorcycle road ready...
