HIRING: Assistant Director of Development in Chicago + -
Schools of St. Benedict
The Schools of St. Benedict is the only pre-k through grade 12 campus in the Archdiocese of Chicago. The Assistant Director of Development will work collaboratively as well as independently to promote and advance the Annual Funds of the elementary school and high school. The position handles a wide variety of programs and serves as manager of alumni, parent and student events. The position reports to the Director of Development for the Schools of St. Benedict.
Alumni Relations
- Responsible for the maintenance and effectiveness of the high school and elementary school alumni association online community.
- Responsible for the planning and coordination of all high school and elementary school alumni reunions, as well as, any other events and programs that generate and foster lifelong relationships that will lead to increased alumni support and good will. (i.e. young alumni)
- Responsible for the general communication coordination (printed and electronic) and website information for each alumni group.
- Work to identify and develop new alumni constituency groups (i.e. class reps) Train and communicate organizational policies and other pertinent/necessary information to all group leaders.
Development
- Responsible for managing several high school and elementary school Annual Fund events/programs. This includes the HS student fundraiser, HS phonathon, ES Market Day, and the auction portion of the Ball & Auction.
- Develop and implement e-solicitation strategies, test targeted constituency groups and track results.
- Build an annual reunion class gift campaign, working with volunteer chairmen. Implement successful communication and solicitation strategies and track progress toward goals.
- Other duties as assigned. Ability to work on weekends and/or extended hours as necessary.
Requirements
Believe in the mission of Catholic education. High-level skills in multi-tasking and meeting deadlines. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with all levels of volunteers and staff. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Proven volunteer management skills. Good analytical skills. A high customer service orientation. Must work independently. A team player that can remain calm under pressure. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Raiser’s Edge, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of auction software helpful. BA degree with 2 - 4 years of development/alumni relations experience.
