Boston Symphony Hall
Symphony Hall, the home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops, has also over the years been the venue where Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, and even on one very snowy night, Orson Welles, performed. Commissioned by Henry Lee Higginson -- who founded the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1881 -- and designed by McKim, Mead & White -- also responsible for the Boston Public Library -- Symphony Hall was built in 1900 and held its first BSO concert that year.
