The Milky Way Lounge & Lanes

As you may have heard, Bella Luna Restaurant and The Milky Way Lounge will be merging and moving to The Brewery on Amory Street in Jamaica Plain, a short few blocks away. We are still open and operating at our original location and plan to do so until our new space is ready in early April 2009. We are moving because the fifteen year lease at our current location is expiring, and our rent is going up by 85%, (an increase of $11,000 per month) a rate that is not affordable for our business. While we are heartbroken to be leaving our unique bowling alley, we are very excited about the new space at The Brewery, which will feature a funky design in a cool vintage space, a large outdoor patio around the dramatic Haffenreffer smokestack, and a lounge and function room for parties and entertainment. W e are planning to feature classic skee ball and to bring back our acclaimed live Jazz brunch. Working closely with you as we always have to create entertainment and arts programming, we will invent new wonders as we have throughout the years; whether a Taco Happy Hour, Drag Queen Bingo, or Psychic Disco and pizza bar. Our mission of being a fun, friendly place where everyone feels comfortable and can enjoy delicious, affordable food will continue, and we will continue to invest 1% of our sales in local non profits to build a better city. We want to thank you all for your phone calls and support and for being such loyal, supportive members of our intergalactic family. We encourage you to continue visiting us throughout 2008 as we enjoy special times in this location, and build anticipation for our next adventure together at 284 Amory Street, the Brewery and Small Business Complex, in 2009.
